THE SUBJECT OF THIS INVENTION IS THE PROCESS OF OBTAINING A COMPOSITE MATERIAL BY COMBINING THERMOPLASTIC POLYMERS WITH FLAX AND/OR HEMP SHIVES, FOR APPLICATION IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRIES. THE PROCESS CONSISTS IN MOISTURE REMOVAL FROM THE LIGNOCELLULOSIC MATERIALS SUCH AS FLAX AND/OR HEMP SHIVES, CRUSHING IT INTO SMALL PIECES AND COMBINING, AT PRESCRIBED PROPORTIONS, WITH A THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER, PREFERABLY POLYETHYLENE AND/OR POLYPROPYLENE. NEXT, THIS MIXTURE IS SUBJECTED TO PRESSING, THEN COOLING AND PELLETIZING.

Composites containing ligno-cellulose materials have positive characteristics. Their relatively low price, good mechanical properties, possible utilisation of standard processing methods, noise absorption, low density and recycling possibilities make it possible for them to be used in many applications.
